Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Your adventure begins the moment you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA). From here, you’ll be transferred to the vibrant city of Arusha, a lively hub that blends modern charm with rich cultural heritage. Nestled at the base of Mount Meru, Arusha serves as the perfect gateway to Tanzania’s world-famous national parks and natural wonders. Upon arrival, you’ll settle in for an overnight stay, resting and preparing for the exciting days ahead filled with exploration, wildlife encounters, and the breathtaking scenery of Tanzania’s northern circuit.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

This morning, you’ll set out for Tarangire National Park, a scenic drive of roughly two and a half hours along smooth, paved roads. Named after the Tarangire River that winds through it, the park becomes a vital lifeline during the dry season, attracting a wealth of wildlife to its banks. Tarangire is especially famous for its large elephant herds, often seen gathering near the river, along with graceful giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Predators such as lions and leopards keep a watchful eye on these plains, adding to the park’s thrilling atmosphere. Known for hosting one of the world’s richest concentrations of breeding bird species, Tarangire also enchants visitors with its towering, ancient baobab trees that stand as timeless sentinels of the African landscape.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you’ll journey into the higher, cooler elevations of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll have a chance to admire the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater—a true natural wonder. Continuing your drive through the conservation area, you’ll eventually enter the Serengeti from its southern edge. The Serengeti is an awe-inspiring landscape, famed for its endless plains that provide some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa. Here, vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes roam freely, following the rhythm of the Great Migration in search of fresh grazing grounds—a spectacle that unfolds year-round, depending on the season and location. You’ll enjoy a scenic picnic lunch amid the wilderness before spending the night in the heart of this iconic park.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Today is devoted entirely to exploring the Serengeti’s incredible wildlife. As you traverse its vast plains, you’ll encounter a remarkable variety of animals—from antelopes and buffaloes to crocodiles and hippos inhabiting the waterways. Alongside the breathtaking scenery, keep your eyes peeled for the park’s top predators, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, all thriving within this iconic ecosystem. The day’s adventures promise moments of pure wonder and connection with nature. Later in the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a game drive en route to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by sweeping views and cool highland air.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you’ll set out toward the Ngorongoro Crater, taking in the spectacular scenery and perhaps spotting more wildlife along the way. Beyond the dramatic volcanic rim lies a breathtaking natural sanctuary—a mix of open savannah, acacia woodlands, shimmering lakes, and lush marshes. Formed two to three million years ago when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed inward, the crater now serves as one of the most remarkable wildlife havens on Earth. The descent into the crater is an adventure on its own, leading you into a world teeming with life—vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles roam freely, while over 500 bird species fill the skies. This is also one of the few places in Africa where you have a good chance of spotting the endangered black rhino, often grazing quietly across the sweeping grasslands.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park and Maasai Culture

Your day begins with an exhilarating half-day game drive through Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its diverse wildlife and lush scenery. As you traverse the park, you’ll encounter a variety of animals and birds that make this region so captivating. Afterward, immerse yourself in Maasai culture with a visit to a local village, where you’ll gain insight into their traditional way of life and enduring customs. Later in the day, you’ll transfer to the airport for your evening flight to Zanzibar—an exciting transition from safari adventures and cultural discovery to the serene, tropical beauty of the island.

Day 7: Prison Island and Stone Town

Your first day in Zanzibar begins with an exciting visit to the fascinating Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island. Here, you’ll encounter the island’s famous giant tortoises and uncover its intriguing past, including the remains of an old prison that once stood on its shores. In the afternoon, you’ll return to Stone Town—the cultural and historical heart of Zanzibar. Stroll through its narrow, maze-like streets, admire the blend of Arab, Persian, Indian, and European architecture, and visit notable landmarks such as the House of Wonders and the Old Fort. As evening falls, indulge in a flavorful Zanzibari dinner at a local restaurant, savoring the island’s unique blend of spices and coastal charm.

Spend the day swimming alongside graceful sea turtles in the clear, turquoise waters surrounding Zanzibar—a truly unforgettable experience that brings you face-to-face with these gentle marine creatures in their natural environment. Dive beneath the surface to snorkel among colorful coral reefs and vibrant tropical fish, then bask in the sun on sparkling sandbanks or float in the warm, calm sea.
