Itinerary

Day-by-day breakdown

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, guests are warmly received and transferred to a comfortable lodge in Arusha. This day is intentionally kept relaxed to allow recovery from international travel while offering a gentle introduction to Tanzania. A briefing on the upcoming safari adventure is provided, and the surrounding views of Mount Meru set the tone for the journey ahead.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, the safari officially begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, a landscape defined by ancient baobab trees and the life-giving Tarangire River. Game drives are conducted through diverse habitats where large elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a variety of predators are frequently observed. The day is spent exploring the park before settling into a lodge located near or within the park boundaries.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

The journey continues to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet remarkably diverse destination nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is renowned for its tree-climbing lions, vast flocks of flamingos, and lush groundwater forests. A full game drive allows the contrasting landscapes to be appreciated before retiring to a lodge situated along the escarpment or close to the park.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

An early departure leads to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater is undertaken. This UNESCO World Heritage Site shelters an extraordinary density of wildlife, including black rhinos, lions, elephants, and large herds of grazers. The crater floor is explored extensively, and a picnic lunch is enjoyed amidst breathtaking surroundings.

Day 5: Transit to Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast, the route heads toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through expansive plains that gradually reveal the park’s iconic landscapes. En-route game viewing introduces the Serengeti’s vastness and wildlife abundance. Upon arrival, an afternoon game drive is conducted before checking into a tented camp or lodge within the park.

Days 6–8: Explore Serengeti National Park

These days are dedicated to in-depth exploration of Serengeti National Park, home to the Great Migration and an impressive concentration of predators. Morning and afternoon game drives are conducted across different sectors of the park, increasing opportunities to witness lions, cheetahs, leopards, and massive herbivore herds. An optional hot air balloon safari may be undertaken on one of the mornings, offering a serene aerial perspective of the plains followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush.

Day 9: Fly to Zanzibar Island

After a final morning in the Serengeti, a scheduled flight transfers guests from the savannahs to the tropical paradise of Zanzibar Island. Upon arrival, a private transfer leads to a beach resort where the remainder of the journey adopts a slower, more relaxed pace.

Days 10–13: Explore Zanzibar Island

These days are reserved for exploring Zanzibar Island at leisure. The island’s rich history, vibrant culture, and pristine beaches are enjoyed through optional activities such as a guided Stone Town tour, spice farm visit, snorkeling, or dhow sailing. A Maasai village visit can be arranged as an optional cultural experience, providing insight into traditional customs and daily life. Ample time is also allocated for relaxation by the ocean, spa treatments, and sunset strolls along the shore.

Day 14: Departure

On the final day, breakfast is enjoyed overlooking the ocean before a scheduled transfer to Zanzibar International Airport. The 14 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safaris and Zanzibar Island experience concludes with onward departure, leaving lasting memories of wildlife encounters and island tranquility.
