4-Day Tarangire- Serengeti- Ngorongoro & Manyara Safari

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Game Drive in Tarangire National Park

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport and after completing customs and immigration, you will be met by your driver and transferred to Tarangire National Park. For the best experience, it is recommended to arrive in the morning to maximize your day. Should you arrive later, spending the night in Arusha and beginning the safari the following day is advisable. The drive from the airport takes roughly two hours, and once inside the park, you will begin your game drive, continuing until evening.

Lunch: Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic site within the park.
Dinner: A delicious dinner will be served at your lodge.

Tarangire National Park is named after the Tarangire River, the sole lifeline for wildlife during the dry season. It is famed for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and the rare tree-climbing African pythons. The park also hosts an impressive array of wildlife, from lions and leopards to gazelles, zebras, giraffes, and buffalo, along with a wide diversity of bird and plant species.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park

This morning, we suggest an early start with breakfast before departing at 6:30 a.m. for Ngorongoro Crater.

Why so early? The early hours offer the best chance to witness wildlife at its most active, along with breathtaking views. With a bit of luck, you may even catch a spectacular sunrise from the crater rim.

You’ll spend the day exploring this remarkable natural wonder. After lunch, continue your journey with a transfer game drive into the Serengeti, where your lodge awaits with dinner and an overnight stay.

Your first view of the Ngorongoro Crater from above is truly unforgettable — gazing into this immense volcanic caldera feels like uncovering a secret world. The descent onto the crater floor is equally captivating, bringing you into a wild sanctuary where overnight stays are not permitted. Here, you may encounter black rhinos, lions, elephants, hyenas, flamingos, and many more species. And when it’s time to ascend, you’ll likely find yourself glancing back, wishing to linger in the moment just a little longer.

Day 3: Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

After a peaceful night immersed in the sounds of the wild, you’ll awaken to the melodic calls of birds in the heart of the Serengeti. Following a hearty breakfast, set out on your game drive at 6:30 a.m.

This day is devoted to tracking the renowned Big Five — lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino. The Central Serengeti, celebrated for its dense wildlife populations, offers prime opportunities for unforgettable sightings and photography.

By late afternoon, you’ll depart the Serengeti and journey toward your lodge near the entrance of Lake Manyara National Park, where dinner and a comfortable overnight stay await.

Day 4: Game Drive in Lake Manyara and Transfer to Arusha

Wake up to your final day on safari as you set out for Lake Manyara National Park.

Situated at the foot of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara is famed for its striking scenery and varied habitats. The park is home to the legendary tree-climbing lions, along with elephants, giraffes, and an impressive array of birdlife around the shimmering alkaline lake. A game drive here takes you through lush woodlands, grassy plains, and open savannahs, offering an experience as diverse as it is memorable.

In the afternoon, you’ll make your way back to Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your safari adventure concludes. Depending on your flight schedule, you may arrive earlier.
