Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu Game Reserve

 

Beginning at Wilson Airport in Nairobi, you will take a scheduled flight to Samburu National Reserve to begin your Kenya safari. One of the camp guides will meet you at the airport and drive you to the camp, where you will spend the following three nights.

 

The Samburu National Reserve is breathtaking, arid, and rocky. The terrain is bleak, with hills extending in all directions. The Ewaso Nyiro River is the lifeblood that runs across this arid country.

Day 2-3: Meet the Samburu

Enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive in Samburu Game Reserve and Buffalo Springs Reserve, which are separated by the Ewaso Nyiro River.

 

Look for the rare and highly endangered Grevy’s Zebra. Wild dog sightings are fairly common, as are cheetahs and leopards.

 

The birdlife is sublime; the array of colours and the abundance of species, with over 450 species recorded here, make Samburu a birders paradise. The Lesser Kestrel and the Taiwan Falcon are both species of global conservation concern, and both can be found in the reserve.

Day 4: Fly to Masai Mara

You will depart for the Masai Mara, which is home to the Great Wildebeest migration from July to October, after breakfast on a scheduled light aircraft flight.

 

Take a game drive in the afternoon and see the park’s expansive plains. It is home to the largest number of lions in Africa as well as the highest concentration of plains game on the planet.

Day 5 – 7: On safari in Masai Mara

In the morning of your Maasai Mara safari, you could choose to include an optional Kenya Hot Air Balloon Safari—one of the most magical ways to take in the Mara ecosystem—or spend the day exploring the park on a morning game drive.

 

 

After a tasty lunch and some time to relax, you visit a traditional Maasai Manyatta. This is a great way to learn about the local tribes’ customs and see what life is like in traditional rural Africa.

 

The camp is a short drive from the Mara River, where more than a million wildebeest and zebra make their way, perilously crossing the river every July and August. During the rest of the year, there are world-class game viewing experiences to be had. With large populations of plains animals, elephants, rhinos, and all the big cats.

Day 8 – 9: Fun in the Sun

Savor your beach vacation in Mombasa, unwind on the stunning white sand beach, and sip cool cocktails. Admire the coastline’s tropical splendor. The following two days of your beach vacation in Kenya are yours to spend as you like and take in the relaxed beach culture of Africa.

 

Play volleyball, go sailing, kite surfing, snorkelling, or work on your tan. After taking a cooling dip in the ocean, enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Day 10: Mombasa

On your last morning of your Mombasa Beach and Kenya Safari vacation, there may be time for one last swim in the ocean. After a leisurely breakfast, take a flight from Mombasa to your next location.
