Methods for Making Tanzanian Park Admission Payments
Imagine yourself in a peaceful nation while breathtaking landscapes emerge. Tanzania is home to several natural wonders, including the Ngorongoro Crater, the Big Five, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the wildebeest migration. To be sure, a safari in Tanzania isn’t complete without encountering the Maasai, Hadzabe, or Datoga.
A conservation area, 32 game reserves, 22 national parks, and countless more are all part of Tanzania’s extensive network of protected places. In order to fund conservation efforts, visitors to these protected sites are required to pay entry fees. What are the costs, and what are the payment options? To assist you with that, we are available. Common forced fees are discussed and suggested methods of settlement in this handbook. Shall we jump straight into it?
How much is the park fee?
Paying the appropriate money to the appropriate authorities is known as a park fee. It might be for admission, concessions, camping, or whatever else you do. While visiting other types of protected locations that aren’t officially parks, you could hear a somewhat different term. Some examples of such places are game reserves, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and regulated zones.
Categories of park fees and how to pay for them.
Tourists are subject to these fees imposed by conservation authorities. There are three entities responsible for collecting fees in Tanzania: TANAPA, which oversees 22 national parks; NCAA, which is in charge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area; and TAWA, which is in charge of all game reserves.
Included in all prices in this guide is VAT. Make cautious to verify if any additional expenses not mentioned in this guide include VAT. Contact our professional safari planners at any time if you have any questions or concerns about the costs.
1. Pet registration cost
When you visit a protected area, you will likely be asked to pay a conservation charge, which is sometimes known as a park admission fee. Conservancy fees in Tanzania change with the seasons and the parks themselves. These prices go up from June to October, when demand is highest, and down from November to May, when demand is lowest.
These conservation fees have been recently revised for several parks.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area Land Preservation Fee
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is really overseen by the NCAA (Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority), not TANAPA. As a result, it creates revenue independently. As for the conservation fees, they have been updated:

Individuals aged 16 and up—11,800$70.80 – $35.40
Kids aged five to fifteen2.360, 2,360, 11.80
A supplemental crater service cost of US$295 per vehicle per trip is applicable while entering the Ngorongoro Crater.
The NCA also includes the following fees:
The entrance price for a Suzuki Escudo (which is permitted in the crater) is $10 USD, while a Land Cruiser is $20 USD.
Methods for covering conservation costs
All of these prices include VAT. These expenses are often covered by your safari package. Alternatively, we will inform you and verify all details when you finalize your agreement.
Everything may be handled by our safari specialist. He will take care of everything else after you pay for the bundle. Another option is to pay at the entrance gate, but be prepared to wait in line.
2. Fees for Concessions
When you book a campsite or lodge in a protected region, you’ll need to pay a cost called a concession fee.
We are more than happy to assist you in resolving this cost. Prior to creating a payment control number, a verified reservation at the lodge or camp must be made. On the other hand, the quoted amount can be covered by your accommodation. You should definitely get in touch with them to verify this.

Extra costs
Extra costs may apply if you choose to go into certain areas. A walking safari charge, a ranger cost, and camping expenses are all part of this. These things can always be paid for while you’re there. Due to the high demand, we suggest making your payment at least 24 hours in advance.
Extra guidance
Keep in mind that the majority of parks do not take cash if you are visiting alone. Some may be willing to take US dollars (in good condition) or Tanzanian shillings (issued after 2010). The parks only take credit cards, so be sure to bring your credit card instead of your debit card. It is your responsibility to cover the costs associated with credit card payments. Another issue is that the American Express circuit isn’t going to operate properly.
