Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Morning/Transfer
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our professional tour guide who will take you for a city excursion in and around Kigali. This is to enable you orient yourself with this great country of ‘a thousand hills’. After this excursion, you will proceed to Volcanoes National Park located in the North of Ruhengeri via undulating and beautiful terraced hills which shows a clear picture of the general landscape and altitude of Rwanda.
Afternoon
You will have lunch and later relax at the lodge as you prepare for next day’s gorilla trekking experience
Evening
You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and visit the Ellen degenres camp
Morning
Have an early morning tasty breakfast at the lodge, you will start your exciting morning drive to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking experience
Trek and Observation
You will depart for your gorilla trek into the indigenous forest in search for the Gorillas. This trek gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself into the strange but intimate part of the rain-forest where you will hear live calls of colourful birds, chattering of the rare golden monkey, as well as the forest filled with fresh spoor of the mountain elusive populations of buffalo and elephant.
Afternoon: You will return to your lodge, to enjoy lunch then later visit the Ellen degenres camp. The camp is a living testimony of the great works of the American primatologist Dian Fossey. Here you will be able to see her photos with the gorillas plus all her writings.
Evening
You will drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 3: Second gorilla trekking and visit Ibyiwachu cultural village.
Morning
Grab a cup of tea at your lodge, then prepare to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the best way to behave with the gorillas in their habitat.
The Gorilla trekking experience.
It involves people joining groups of 8 people then departing in the jungle to search for these endangered mountain species. Upon meeting up with these gentle apes one hour is granted for interaction. It involves taking photos and also viewing these creatures go about their daily activities.’
Afternoon.
You will drive with your guide back to your lodge to enjoy lunch. After a few minuets of relaxation, drive to Ibyiwachu cultural village to discover more about the Rwandan culture. You will be welcomed with the sounds of the local people singing and drumming. From here you will listen to various traditional songs and performances.
Evening
Relaxation at the lodge, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali international airport.
Very early in the morning, enjoy your tasty morning meals then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of these creatures in their habitat. Trek the golden monkeys then return to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch, drive with your guide to Kigali international airport for your flight back home. Bid fare well to your guide then fly out. Safe travels
