3 DAY PRIMATE SAFARI EXPERIENCE
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your safari begins with pick-up in Kigali, where your professional guide will take you on a city tour. Visit significant landmarks such as Nyamata and Ntarama Genocide Memorials, which hold deep historical importance from the 1994 tragedy. After the city exploration, continue your journey with a scenic drive of approximately two hours into Uganda, arriving at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Here, you’ll check in at Gorilla Mist Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. (Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Kisoro
After an early breakfast, head to the Bwindi park offices for a detailed briefing on the gorilla trekking experience. Once prepared, you’ll set off with armed rangers and porters to track a designated gorilla family. The trek may last between 3 to 5 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movement, but the reward is an awe-inspiring hour spent observing these magnificent primates in their natural habitat. After returning to the lodge for a hot lunch, you will drive for about two hours to Kisoro, where you will check in at Ichumbi Hotel for dinner and overnight. (Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 3: Golden Monkey Habituation in Mgahinga & Return to Kigali
Today begins early with a transfer to Mgahinga National Park for a golden monkey habituation experience, starting at 7:00 am after the park briefing. Unlike ordinary trekking, this activity allows extended hours—between 6 to 7—in the forest, observing and learning about these playful primates as they go about their daily lives. After the trek, you will enjoy lunch before beginning the drive back to Kigali, where your safari concludes. (Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch)
